With the world of technology changing and advancing so quickly, most of us experience challenges and frustrations trying to complete certain tasks on our cell phones, ipads, tablets, computers and all the other electronic devices that have become such integral parts of our lives. When that happens to you, rest assured....help is on the way!
"Time-4-U" is held the third Wednesday of every month, 9:00am to Noon at the Fountain Hills Community Center. During this time, our volunteers are available to assist with any tech issues you might be having. There is no charge for this service and no scheduling is required.
We encourage students to bring their personal computer, tablet, or mobile phone, fully charged, along with the passwords for these devices.
Our volunteers are versed in Apple products (iPhone, iPad), Android phones and tablets as well as various software and applications.
To assist in practical applications, out team can offer advice on searching the internet for savings on air fares, prescription drugs, insurance (car, medical, homeowner), gasoline and ratings of local doctors and hospitals. They can also provide guidance on how to avoid being "scammed" so you don't become a statistic!
Our team looks forward to meeting you at the "Time-4-U" monthly drop-in session. The upcoming dates in 2024 include:
November 20th, 9:00 am to noon
December 18th, 9:00 am to noon
IMPORTANT!
If anyone would like to become a TLC volunteer, please stop by at any of the above dates. No degree is needed, just a willingness to share your technological knowledge with fellow members of your community.

As most of us have seen while driving through our communities, there are SO many Amazon Delivery Vans bringing packages to their customers.
While ordering on line is time-saving, Amazon ‘devotees’ are one of the most scammed group of shoppers in today’s retail world.
Here is some advice from Amazon:
· For any questions related to an order, always check your ORDER HISTORY on Amazon.com or via the Amazon shopping app. Only legitimate purchases will appear in your order history.
· Do NOT click on any links in an email or provide your information without authenticating the email or verifying the link. Visit the Message Center, which displays a log of authentic communications sent from Amazon.
· Know that Amazon will NEVER:
o Request that you purchase a gift card for any service
o Ask you to download or install any software to connect with customer service
o Ask you to pay for something over the phone
· If you’re trying to communicate with Amazon, make sure you are logged into your account on the site or app. DON’T google Amazon to get to its site. Instead, type Amazon.com into your browser, or use the Amazon app on your phone. Scammers are adept at setting up ‘fake’ sites that may show up in a Google search and take you to their bogus site.

This month features Helpful Hints for Summer Travel 2023. Take the stress out of traveling with these helpful apps available on the internet. Simply download these apps to your smartphone and make your vacation more enjoyable.
These apps will allow you the ability to deal with flight delays or cancellations by quickly providing alternative plans. Book flights, lodging, car rentals and more with ease. You can also locate restaurants and interesting places to visit and experience along the way.
Does navigating the layers of security and safety regulations at airports make you want to turn around and head for home? Let this app smooth the way and get you boarded with relative ease.
With today's rising fuel costs trips to the gas pump always start the stomach acids to churning!
Mitigate the need to reach for the Rolaids by using this app to find the best gas prices whether on you're home turf or traveling.
Many of you already use google maps to find the closest Mexican restaurant or a new doctor's office. When on vacation and visiting new places, this app is essential to avoid those inconvenient wrong turns and have the ability to search for anything at your fingertips.
In a foreign country and desperately need to ask for directions to the nearest "facilities"?.....this app will save the day and replace the bulk and hassle of toting around translation dictionaries.
Merci, Gracias, Grazie, Danke, Mahalo TLC!!
