Update From Speaker Programs Coordinator Mary Burritt

The Speaker Programs' Planning Committee usually convenes sometime during the last week in August to review a list of speakers and topics collected from AZ Humanities, AZ Speaks, Sonoran Conservancy, former and potential speakers, and even local presenters that have something interesting to share.

We hope to release the first slate of speakers in September/October.

Speaker Programs Coordinator Mary Burritt Announces New Programming Opportunities From AZ Humanities

Those who attend Encore's Speaker Programs throughout the year may be aware that many of the presenters are found through the AZ Humanities Speakers Program.  As a result, the AZ Humanities has asked Mary to spread the word about a new program circulating through rural communities across America called SPARK! PLACES OF INNOVATION.

Rural Americans are creating new products, meeting challenges together, and seizing upon exciting opportunities that change local life and sometimes reach far beyond.

Come explore a Smithsonian exhibition!  Travel to innovative communities across the state.  Spark! Places of Innovation explores stories of towns that tapped into their strength to confront challenges and create opportunities.

For more information check out the poster provided by the Smithsonian.
